USPA swimmers of the year 2012 and 2013 Tendo Mukalazi and his sister Kirabo Namutebi are on a 45-player Dolphins team set to defend the Kenya National Age Swimming Championship at the Aga Khan High School in Nairobi.

The team to the three-day event due on May 16-18, on Saturday received sh10m from Harris International-the manufacturers of Riham, towards the trip.

Joseph Nzasenga the senior marketing executive of the firm presented the cheque to the excited kids and parents after their trials at Gems Cambridge International School swimming pool in Luzira near Kampala.

Other contributors to the trip include Protea Hotel (sh2.4m), Air Uganda (two air tickets) and Teltec (sh2m).

Dolphins coach Tonnie Kasujja said they will take an experienced side with their title defence on top of the agenda.

“We have been working very hard for the past five months and we think our experience will make the difference. We are taking an experienced side, and the swimmers have returned impressive times during the trial,” Kasujja said.

For the last three years the Dolphins have come out victorious in the annual event that attracts over 2000 swimmers from schools and clubs within the East Africa region.
