A Ugandan woman caused a scene at a railway station in Jabalpur, one of the major cities of in India.
A Ugandan woman on Tuesday caused a scene at a railway station in Jabalpur, one of the major cities of Madhya Pradesh state in India.
After reaching the station at around 9.30 am New Delhi, Christine, 30, sat alone in a compartment of the train and didn't alight even after being requested by the railway staffers, according to Indiatoday.
The railway staffers finally called the Government Railway Police (GRP) to evict her from the train. Christine was taken to a room at the railway station and GRP tried to find out what was wrong with her.But she allegedly tried to escape from the police.
Christine arrived in India on May 29, 2012, on a 3-month visa. According to her visa, she entered India through IGI airport Delhi.
Her visa is said to have expired two years back. West Central Railway's Jabalpur Division officials said that the Ugandan was travelling without a ticket. "We don't know from where she boarded the train," they added.
GRP has handed over Christine to district police. Jabalpur Superintendent of Police Harinarayanachari Mishra said that they were trying out to find out the locations where she may have stayed for the last two years. "We have served quit India notice to her," he told India Today.
A police officer accompanying Christine will on Wednesday leave for Delhi where she will be handed over to Ugandan Embassy, Mishra said.
