The only female lady in the MPU Rally Laila Irene Blick is optimistic she will give the men value for their money as she targets her first podium finish this year.

Blick is scheduled to be flagged off fourth behind route opener Ronald Ssebuguzi, Jonas Kansiime and Duncan Mubiru aka Kikankane.

The crew of Blick and Anthony Mugamba in a Toyota Run X acknowledged the inferiority of their machine to that of the top guns that drive Mistibish Evo 9, Subaru N10 and N14 cars.

They however vowed to use their skills to secure a podium finish.

“Of course I know they beat me in the sprint but I will wait in the sections where skill matters most to reclaim the time I lost in the Super Special stage,” Laila stated.

“In Jinja, I narrowly missed the podium but I hope we make it this time,” Blick added. Meanwhile, the OiLibya sponsored crew of Dr. Ashraf Ahmed and Peter Stone that finished fifth in the Source of the Nile race is targeting a podium finish this time.

The rally will cover 290km in the districts of Rwengo, Bukomansimbi, Kalungu and Masaka.
