UGANDA’S representatives at the Women's African Club Championship in Carthage, Tunisia have been left fighting for two slots left for the quarterfinals.
Ndejje is among ten clubs fighting to fill the slots in the last eight while Nkumba fell out after suffering a second straight defeat over the weekend.
After a brilliant start, Ndejje Elites fell 3-1 to home side Sfax VC.
Ndejje had launched their campaign with a 3-0 win over Manga Sport of Gabon in Group C on Saturday. But Nkumba suffered a similar defeat by Injis of Cameroon.
The Ugandan representatives found it tougher with Ndejje conceding 26-24, 25-13, 21-25, 25-18 while Nkumba suffered a 25-12, 25-13, 25-10 defeat in Group A to another home side Carthage.
Favourites and defending champions Kenya Prison and Shams (EGY), FAP, Injis (both from Cameroon), GSP (ALG) and Kenya Pipeline (KEN) all won their second matches to qualify for the quarterfinals.
