UGANDA could only finish 8th overall despite earning four valuable points in the last round at the Africa Zone 6 golf championship at the Devonvale Golf and Wine Estate Club, Cape Town on Thursday.
Captain Phillip Kasozi, Ronald Rugumayo, Willy Kitatta and Robert Oluba won their singles matches against Lesotho, Kenyan, Namibian and Zambian opponents respectively to finish with nine points.
Uganda picked only two points in the opening singles round, squared off two games in the second (foursomes) for a point, carded another 2 points in the fourballs and completed the three-day action with four to share 8th place with Zambia.
Uganda will now turn their attention to the All Africa Junior Championship due in Zambia (April 29-May 2).
