The center will have a computer lab, conference rooms and lecture rooms. It will be used by KCCA to teach the youth basic computer skills like language and how to prepare for job interviews.

KCCA executive director, Jennifer Musisi, said the plan tallies in with the youth livelihood programme that has so far benefitted 1,219 youth.

She said the institution is done with doing ‘basics’ of rebuilding the city and will now focus on taking the city beyond that.

The basics include garbage collection, road sweeping, street light installation and revenue collection.
As KCCA enters its fourth year, it has a list of projects to be proud of.

The reduction of the institution’s bank accounts from 151 to 15 which has eased the financial interactions, the authority has only 2 expenditure accounts and the other 13 are used for revenue collection.

A total of 60 internal audit reviews have been carried out although their contents have not yet been made public. She however, said the audits revealed a ‘big mess’ in the way the city authority had been running.

Musisi said the authority has recovered over sh300b in assets in the past three years. The assets include land titles, houses and artifacts among other achievements.
