AFTER a second petition to FIFA by Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) side, FUFA has reacted to the global soccer governing body’s directive and issued Robert Ssentongo a player’s license.

FUFA competitions manager Ali Mwebe told the federation’s weekly press conference at Mengo yesterday that FIFA had cleared Ssentongo and directed them to licence him for URA.

In a communication to FUFA, the FIFA director of legal affairs Marco Villger and head of players’ status and governance Omar Ongaro said that Ssentongo was granted an exceptional transfer as requested for by URA.

“With this latest directive from FIFA, Ssentongo will be legible to play for URA for the rest of the season,” FUFA Mwebe stated.

URA will take on Vipers in their next FUFA Super League fixture. The game will be held in Buikwe on April 18.

URA petitioned FIFA to have Ssentongo return to the club after he complained of mistreatment at St. George FC of Ethiopia.
