South Sudan President Salva Kiir had an extensive meeting with the Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni on Monday.

The meeting came on the heels of increased pressure on Uganda to pull troops out of South Sudan.

Uganda sent over 4000 troops into South Sudan after the country descended into civil war last year in December.

According to a State House statement, the President is said to have discussed matters of mutual and bi-lateral interest to the country.

Uganda has said it will withdraw its troops once the African emergency force, African Capacity for Immediate Response to Crisis (ACRIC) has been constituted and is ready to take over areas secured by the UPDF.
