The opposition has rallied the people of Lira the need to have electoral reforms for a free and a fair 2016 general polls.


Former Lands minister Daniel Omara Atubo joined the opposition at meeting held at Mayor`s Garden.

Opposition leaders at the meeting included: Dr Kiza Besigye former FDC president, Major General Mugisha Muntu, the FDC president, Dr Olara Otunu of UPC, retired Bishop Zac Niringiye, DP President Norbert Mao, MP Cecilia Atim Ogwal, Igrid Turinawe, chairperson FDC women league and several opposition attended rally.

“Tear gas and other threats will not stop us from advocating for free and fair election,” said Dokolo woman legislator Atim Ogwal.

Bishop Niringiye urged people to continue advocating for peaceful transition of power without shedding blood.
