Illegal water connections cause of Mulago chaos

Over 200 households around Mulago referral hospital are illegally connected to its water supply.
 
While appearing before the parliamentary health committee, officials from the hospital led by the executive director, Dr Baterana Byaruhanga, attributed their hefty water bill to these illegal connections.
 
Last month National water cut off Mulago water supply over unpaid bills amounting to over sh6b.
 
Committee chairperson Kenneth Omona says legislators shall visit the hospital on Monday to assess the situation.
 
Meanwhile, the ministry of finance has directed the administration of Mulago hospital to cut off all illegal water connections to reduce on their water bills.
 
Secretary to the Treasury in the ministry of finance Keith Muhakanizi says Government will not continue paying for unnecessary water Bills arising from laziness of the administration of Mulago Hospital.
