KAMPALA - Deputy Speaker of parliament Jacob Oulanya has directed the minister of east African affairs, Shem Bagaine, to make a statement to the House on the ongoing planned motion to censure Margaret Zziwa as Speaker for EALA.

The Speaker’s ruling comes after proposals by MPs to recall the eight members representing Uganda in the east African legislative assembly for trying to fight their own Margaret Zziwa.

Government chief whip Kasule Lumumba said that it is a shame for Ugandan’s representatives to fight Zziwa when its Uganda’s turn to lead the assembly.

Lumumba told parliament this evening that the President is meeting with his east African counterparts on the matter and will brief the representatives of Uganda EALA on what to do thereafter.
