Mukono Police stuck with four lost children

Police in Mukono district are stuck with four children who went missing from their relatives. The officer in charge of family and child protection unit at Mukono Police, Jane Amiyat identified the children as Charles Erogo (9) and his brother Henry Esimu (7).

The elder brother, Erogo said that their parents are Charles Abra and Christine Among, a teacher at a school he does not recall.

He said that he was schooling in primary three and Esimu in primary one at Skylight Primary School in Serere district. 

Erogo added that their father, Abra, picked them from the village and brought them to Kampala to attend classes at a new school.

“We went to classes and studied but the father failed to pick us in the evening. We moved to an unknown destination, we just found ourselves at Mukono Police unknowingly,” Erogo said.

Amiyat also identified another child as Prima Nakyanzi (8) a pupil in primary 5 at Hope for Youth Primary School in Nama sub-county in Mukono district and Douglas Kabunga (13) who resides in Bugiri district.
 

Amiyat said the school put Nakyanzi on a bus to go back home at Mbuya in Kamapala to pick school fees but when the bus dropped her at a stage, she failed to locate her home.

 

Nakyanzi only identifies her parents as Sam and Nakibuule who are residents of Mbuya village.

“She was picked in Kitintale by a good samaritan who took her to Kitintale Police which later transferred her to Mukono Police.

Unfortunately, the four children are soon making a month minus getting any link to their parents,” Amiyat said.

Kabunga claims that he walked from Bugiri looking for jobs to raise school fees for next term.

“I have not gone to school this term after the death of all my parents,” he said.

Kabunga, who was picked from Namanve on Kamapala-Jinja highway, said that he leaves with his grandmother whom he only identified as Cecilia. He said that he stopped schooling in primary five in 2012.

Amiyat asked the public to help the children to find their relatives adding that the young ones, Esimu and Nakyanzi always cry as they keep on asking to see their parents.
