UCA T20 National League (Sunday)

Tornado v SKLPS

SKLPS v Warriors

Rounders v Nile

Premier v Challengers

Wanderers v Tigers

Jinja SS v Tornado B

JACC v Tornado B

JINJA SS start to the UCA T20 National League – which stands at six won, one lost – may not be the best but it may be the most impressive.

The honour for best start obviously goes to Tornado B, who are the only unbeaten team in the competition with five wins. But as Jinja SS prepare to host Tornado B today, it is difficult to argue that Habib Magalula’s team have had the most praiseworthy start to the campaign.

No one expected it even though Jinja SS ended last season on the high of gaining qualification to the Multiple Industries Cricket League Division 1. And in any case, while Tornado B’s perfect start is remarkable, it is nothing new for a team that won the 2013 Multiple Industries Cricket League Division 1 with a 14-0 record.

Tornado B will also face JACC on Sunday but it is obviously Jinja SS, who are second in Group A, who have the higher chance of pulling off the upset. Actually, Jinja are a position ahead of Tornado B but have played two games more.

No doubt confidence is high for Mugalula’s side and at the very least Tornado’s B visit is a chance for Jinja SS to test themselves against the very best. As for table-propping JACC, Tornado’s B stopover may not be exactly the perfect appointment. JACC are winless in six and damage limitation may be the realistic target out of this game.

Meanwhile, Group B leaders Tornado have the chance to bounce back from their shock defeat to KICC that ended their perfect record when they take on SKLPS at Lugogo.
