Uganda Cup (Round of 16)
VIPERS SC secretary Harunah Kyobe has insisted that they have an advantage over URA FC when the two clash in the Uganda Cup round of 16 fixture at Buikwe Stadium.
Vipers, who eliminated URA FC in the semi-finals after defeating the tax collectors home and away have played in to back-to-back Uganda Cup finals since 2012.
“It’s too close to call and can go either way although we hold a slight advantage since the tie will be in our own backyard. Last season’s results at the semi-final stage where we beat them home and away to go for our second successive final, will also go a long way in motivating the boys,” Kyobe said.
Police FC return to Jinja where they will face Municipal Council football club. Police eliminated another Jinja based side Sadolin Paints in the round of 32 to book a place in the next round.
Saints FC will either face holders Sports Club Victoria University or Ndejje University, who are yet to play their round of 32 encounter.
SC Villa take on fellow FUFA Super League side BUL FC. SC Villa has not gone beyond the quarterfinals since 2010.
Last year Entebbe FC ejected them at the same stage and were eliminated by URA on grounds of violence in 2011 after losing to the tax collectors at the last 16 stage in 2010.
