Two officials from the British High Commission have interviewed the 51-year old Briton accused of snatching a married woman
 

According to Police, the officials who interacted with Lindsey Stewart at the Police's Special Investigations division (Kireka suburbs), pending court, wanted to confirm his nationality and the crime he had committed.

Stewart arrested on Monday is facing cherges of elopement, abduction and human trafficking.
 

Police said the arrest was prompted by a complaint by a one Bernard Wasonyi who reported to Kira Police Station that his wife Faridah Wasike,(31) a child and house maid were missing . The three were later found at Stewart's home in Ntinda suburbs.
 

Police records show that , Wasike her four-year-old daughter and a 20-year-old hose help formely living in Mbale had been missing since January 18.
 

On Tuesday, police handed over the child and the maid to Musonyi while the suspects were released on Police bond, Thursday pending investigations. It is not clear when they will appear in court.

Francis Olugu, the deputy officer in charge of organised crime said the suspect underwent medical examination to ascertain whether he was fit to stand trial.
 

Police sources said Stewart came to Uganda as a tourist in 2007 but details of his business here could not be established.
