A panel of 5 Supreme Court Judges is today set to hear an application filed by the expelled rebel MPs.

The applicants seek court order to block the Electoral Commission from conducting by-elections to fill their positions in parliament.

Justices John Wilson Ssekoko, Benjamin Odoki, Christine Kitumba,  Galdino   Okello  and  Stellah Arach Amoko  are set  to hear the application.

The former MPs are also seeking court orders to temporarily halt a Constitutional Court ruling that kicked them out of Parliament until their appeal is heard and determined.

Last month, 4 judges of the Constitutional Court ordered the EC to conduct by elections after ruling that the expelled MPs had lost their seats following the expulsion from NRM party.
