A ten-man KCCA showed true fighting spirit by pulling off an away draw against Nkana FC  in the CAF Champions League first round.

KCCA, who had Tom Masiko sent off for a second bookable offense, had 25 minutes into the match sent a cold chill on the home crowd with a Tonny Odur opening goal.

Nkana clawed its way back earning a penalty ten minutes later. But wonder goalkeeper Salim Magoola pulled off a save, his second in three CAF matches.  But Nkana were not about to relent.

The pressure paid off with a Simon Bwalya equalizer.

Masiko was sent off moments before the hosts capitalized on their numerical advantage to take the lead through Shadrack  Musonda.

KCCA gallantly fought back. The pressure paid off in the 70th minute with Maybin Chishimba bringing down Odur in the box and Brian Majwega converting the resultant penalty.

This was the second impressive away result for Nsimbe’s side which beat El Merreikh 2-0 in Sudan in the first round. KCCA advanced 3-2 on aggregate after losing 2-1 at home.

KCCA plays the Zambian side next Saturday at Namboole in the return leg.
