NEW flyweight sensation Rogers Semitala underlined his bid for a place in the national team after stopping Justus Masereka of Hima Cement in the National Open on Tuesday.

The COBAP boxer scored at will forcing his opponent into submission on day two that had youthful boxers calling the shots at Lugogo.

“He was rough but I beat him. My determination from now on is to go to the Commonwealth Games,” he said after outclassing veteran Masereka.

The other boxers who gave a good account of themselves included flyweight Yasin Adinand (Police), light fly Umar Mutebi (KCCA) and Fazil Juma (EC).
