FAROUK Miya scored the lone goal that helped Vipers take the FUFA Super League lead on Tuesday.

Vipers, whose Buikwe home ground is still under suspension, surged ahead at their alternative ground in Kitende.

Vipers now lead the 16 team race with 35 points, one more than Kira Young, who were not in action.

At Lugazi, four time champions URA failed to seize the opportunity to go top by losing to SC Victoria University. On form Mathew Odong and Noah Semakula got the crucial goals to the visitors while Frank Kalanda scored for URA.

Bright Stars secured their first ever win over archrivals Soana. Two of the previous games between the two sides had ended in draws with Soana winning the third.

Anthony Bongole got the winner for Bright Stars in a match that had each of the teams punished with a red card.  Francis Olaki had earlier put the stars ahead before but Hassan Kikoyo equalized. Olaki had to leave shortly after the break with a thigh injury.

At Kakindu tailing CRO, 8-0 losers to KCCA in their previous match, were much improved side as they held home side Bidco.

The hosts, still fresh from a win over Vipers, seemed destined for a big win when Jackson Kibirige gave them a 48  minute lead.  But the lead was to short lived as  Ivan Lubaale equalized shortly afterwards.
