Businessman Boney Katatumba has been evicted by Shumuk Company properties from his Backlines House in Kampala.

The High Court on Monday set aside an order evicting Shumuk Springs Development Limited and Springs International Hotel Limited from the former Blacklines House saying it was erroneously issued.

The fresh eviction and attachment orders allow Shumuk possession of properties; Blacklines House on Plot 2, Colville Street and Hotel Diplomat Plot 970 & 971 Muyenga Tank Hill.

This morning Katatumba, also the Ambassador of Pakistan in Uganda, was evicted by Batume Auctioneers under the police security.

Denis Namuwoza, who headed the operation and is attached to CPS told media that during the scuffle a security guard who was guarding the Commercial building fired in the air to disperse the crowd but later arrested by the police and is still detained at Central Police Station.

“The guard has been arrested and  taken to Central Police Station where he will be interrogated,” Namuwoza says.
