Stecia Mayanja's ex-husband Fred Kitaka Busuulwa has filed a case of theft against his new runaway bride, Rema Namagembe.

Kitaka, who had spent just five months with Namagembe first mounted a manhunt for his bride after she cleaned out his house over the weekend.

Kitaka stormed his in-laws place in Kiweesi –Mityana where Namagembe introduced him last year.

He was however disappointed to learn that they too did not know where the bride was, and that her biological parents actually live in Ndeeba.

Rather the home where the visit was done belongs to Namagembe's brother, Dr. Alex Mutebi.

Furious, Kitaka then proceeded to the Senga's home, Hadijah Nalubega whom locals refer to as Maama Fahad of Kikuumambogo in Mityana.

Like a true Senga, Nalubega politely retrieved a small mat from the house and offered her son a seat.  Kitaka did not waste time with pleasantries and delved straight into the issue at hand.

"Forgive us for being in such a rush but we are looking for Remmy (as he fondly called his runaway bride)," Kitaka said as he impatiently announced his arrival with a beefy man he had travelled with.

"She left me with nothing!"

"I am begging you please, tell me where Remmy is hiding so she can give me back my property and we part ways," he added. "Even though I loved her so much I have given up after what has befallen me."

At this moment his bouncer, Peter Matovu, let himself inside the Senga's house and made a quick search of Remmy; he also rummaged through some of the property in the hope that some could be Kitaka's, but found nothing.

The terrified Senga informed Kitaka tha the last saw his daughter two months back when she asked her for some of the photos that had been taken at the function. She also seemed oblivious of most of Kitaka's queries regarding Remmy's life, telling him to ask her mother.

Kitaka demands sh40m from runaway bride

Seemingly cornered, Kitaka filed a case of the theft at Najjanankumbi against Namagembe on file number 17/08/2/14.

Kitaka, who operates as a car dealer at Bakuli on the outskirts of the city said he would not allow to lose property in such an unscrupulous manner since it appeared like some of his in-laws had abetted the theft.

He said during the visit to Namagembe's home last year, his in-laws had refused the function to be caught on video which raised eyebrows among his friends.

He said that his stolen property was estimated at over sh40m including sh20m in cash that he had given her to boost her hardware business in Kiyembe and sh1m he had given her after she lied to him she needed to go to hospital.

Kitaka's in-law speak out

Emma Kizito, a brother to Remmy said Kitaka's relationship with his sister has always been riddled with drama over accusations of infidelity.

He also defended the sister saying Kitaka should stop demanding for money because the money he claims he gave her for business was in fact given to her by another brother who stays in Munyonyo.

Much as mystery shrouds her whereabouts, reports suggest that Remmy went back to her family in Nyanama where she has two kids from a nkuba kyeyo.

Kizito also discarded rumours suggesting that his sister eloped with a South Africa based nkuba kyeyo, saying: "You will not find Remmy; as I speak now she is already in Dubai!"

Distraught and confused, Kitaka  says he will not give up pursuing Remmy for his property because he had invested a lot of his money and time.

Kizito however rubbished him saying he only visited their home and never even formalised their relationship. "Who told him to bring all those gifts and all those people who escorted him?"

"Does he even know what Remmy's father looks like or our big brother who gives away our sisters?" Kizito scoffed at Kitaka.

"We come from a rich family; Remmy would never steal from Kitaka as he claims," Kizito told this reporter.
