Internal Affairs minister, Gen. Aronda Nyakairima has vowed to deal with errant Civil Society Organizations and Non Governmental Organisations who engage in political propaganda instead of developmental issues.

“There are black sheep among you who operate as if the country has no constitution. These will be regularly exposed and talked about,” Aronda said, adding that there is need for close monitoring of the activities of NGOs in the country.

He said once you do not monitor NGO work, some can go to sleep while others get influenced by dangerous people.

“We shall not give room for rumourmongering,” Aronda warned.

The Minister was speaking during the Civil Society leaders’ meeting where he was invited to address them. The meeting was held in Kampala.

However, Aronda hailed Organisations that have made a contribution to the growth of the country and dismissed claims that the Government is sabotaging their work.
