Uganda Allied Health Examinations(UAHEB) start today

“Don’t just punish these students, leave that work to the people responsible, your work is to monitor not to penalize someone because you have caught them cheating,” he warned.

Over 1000 invigilators and coordinators preparing to conduct health training exams have been warned against harassing students during examination time over suspected malpractice. 
 
This was during a briefing to exam coordinators and invigilators for Uganda Allied Health Examinations which start today in all health training institutions across the country.
 
The invigilators were warned by the chairman Uganda Allied Health Examinations Board (UAHEB), Stephen Rwandembo at the boards’ secretariat in Ntinda over the weekend ahead of the exams.
 
Rwandembo said some of the coordinators and invigilators have reached the extent of going physical with the students who have misbehaved.
 
“Your work to observe and coordinate the exams, anything outside that you must consult us, you are not supposed to punish or gun the students down, ”Rwandembo said.
 
He said some of the invigilators had become animals to the students behaving in a manner that was inhuman.
He asked the team to leave the responsibility of punishing to the board and other arms of the health examination body.
 
“Don’t just punish these students, leave that work to the people responsible, your work is to monitor not to penalize someone because you have caught them cheating,” he warned.
 
According to Julius Kamwesiga the principle examination officer UAHEB, atotal of over 7,000 students in different medical training institutions both public and private were registered for this year’s exams for the award of diplomas and certificates.
Kimoga, the executive secretary UAHEB told the team to write detailed reports about the exercise to enable the body Improve the examination of health personnel.
 
He also appealed to the invigilators to exhibit a high degree of professionalism cooperation, transparency and integrity wherever they will be deployed.
