POLICE FC has battled to advance to the round of 32 in the Uganda Cup through penalty shootouts. The Cops were forced into a 1-1 draw in regulation time but fought their way back to win 5-4 in spot kicks at Bugembe Stadium in Jinja.

Andrew Basooma had put coach Angelo Lonyesi side in the lead 25 minutes into the game but Sadolin fought back to equalise courtesy of Rashid Mutebi to force the penalties.

It was clearly an uphill task for Uganda Police FC who confronted Sadolin at home without six of their starting players.

Defenders Jimmy Kulaba, Paul Dafa and midfielder Siraje Sevume did not feature in the match after they deserted the club while Francis Olanya and Moses Kimuli were ruled out with knee injuries. Yasin Mubiru was also out with a backache.
