A water crisis has hit Kasese district as the dry spell continues to bite.

 
The most affected Sub Counties include; Bigando, Ibuga, Nyakatonzi and Muhokya were pastoralists have started selling their animals at a giveaway price due to lack of water and pasture to feed them.
 
Kamara Mugisan one of the pastoralists in Bigando, Kichwamba Sub County said lost cattle due to lack of water and pasture. He said it last rained in their area in November last year.
 
Mugisa said they move a distance of 20 kilometers to River Rwimi for water.
 
Constant Koomu, the Kichwamba Sub County chairperson said the prolonged drought has also led to food insecurity in the area. He is called for government’s intervention.
