WITH the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) polls set for Saturday outgoing assistant secretary Nevice Kizito has broken silence on her fall out with fellow executives.

Kizito, who has been accused of walking out on the outgoing executive committee midway their two-year term of office, explained her position.

“My point of deviation from the executive stems from the gross infringement on the constitutional rights of all stakeholders (competitors, fans, sponsors and the fraternity,” Kizito explained in an e-mail to New Vision Sport.

Kizito is taking on FMU secretary Reynolds Kibira whom she worked with before the fall out which was kept under wraps.

Kizito said that she would like to make a contribution to a federation which respects the constitution as supreme, is professionally governed, transparent, accountable and shows mutual respect for all stakeholders.

“The Federation should conduct its affairs and meetings in accordance with the constitution, principles of natural justice, fairness, good faith and fair play,” Kizito explained.

She went on to say, “there are various incidents in the past two years that the above principles were ignored.”

Ideally Kizito should have resigned instead of remaining an absentee member of the FMU executive.

Her tactical decision not to resign guarantees her a seat in the 84 member FMU assembly and a vote.

In case the contentious issue of her eligibility to contest for the post of secretary comes up, Kizito will be on hand to defend herself.

The presidential race has Jack Wavamunno, Kisitu Mayanja and Arthur Blick Junior.
