PREVIOUSLY an encounter between D’Mark Kobs and G4S Pirates was a big Kampala Rugby Club derby but not this season.

Pirates, who are enduring their worst Nile Special Premier League campaign face Kobs, who are unbeaten in eight matches.

Pirates’ string of poor results has made them a laughing stock this season but Kobs coach Fred Mudoola still takes them seriously.

“We take every game seriously and we shall approach our match against Pirates like any other big game. Every game is big so we can’t take the foot off the pedal,”Mudoola stated.

Kobs captain Brian Odongo who was out injured for the better part of last season has led by example since bouncing back.

Odongo who scored two tries as Kobs obliterated Mutoni Warriors 57-7 last week should easily lead his ‘troops’ to success.

Mudoola attributed his team’s unbeaten run to maturity.

“Our team has always had the belief but somehow things did not go well previously. We have been building a team which has matured. Credit goes to the team which really works hard,” Mudoola stated.

Kobs with 39 points, 10 clear of Heathens and Buffaloes, will be glad to celebrate their 50th anniversary with a league trophy.

Elsewhere, Sadolin Mongers enchanted by a 10-5 victory over Heathens in Entebbe last weekend take on Toyota Buffaloes at Kyadondo.
