Congolese refugees continue to enter Uganda through Bunagana in Kisoro district.

According to Uganda Red Cross Society, over 8,561 refugees had entered Uganda by Tuesday morning and the number was expected to increase.

UNHCR has organized a convoy movement (refugee relocation) to Rwamwanja Settlement, the Uganda Red Cross Society, director for communication, Catherine Ntabadde said in a statement. Over 700 refugees are being relocated.

The situation at Bunagana border is alarming after heavy fighting with heavy bomb shells going off with reports of injuries to civilians.

URCS team at Nyakabande transit continues to support the Office of the Prime Minister and UNCHR to manage the camp.

The teams have also recently constructed new 5 communal shelters, 1 temporary kitchen and 1 domestic animal shelter.

Ntabadde said the Danish Red Cross together with the URCS was conducting a detailed assessment mission in the area.
In Koboko, refugees continued to enter the country through Kuluba Sub County fleeing threats of a conflict between the M18 and the actual numbers have not been established.

The Office of the Prime Minister reported close to 6,000 refugees having entered Uganda while local authorities along the border estimated the number to be close to 10,000 refugees.

In Bundibugyo, there is no reported influx in the district and URCS was still implementing the ongoing refugee operation in an agreement with OPM/UNCHR.

The population in the camp stands at 2574 people with reports of an average 8 refugees arriving per day.
