Over 1000 Graduate from Nkumba University

A total of 1700 students were on Saturday awarded degrees, diplomas and certificates from Nkumba University.

A total of 1700 students were on Saturday awarded degrees, diplomas and certificates from Nkumba University.

The biggest number of graduands came from the school of business studies which had 870 students and of these 307 received Bachelor of Business Administration.

Among the graduands was the pioneer class of Petroleum and Mineral Management studies.

The institute also saw its biggest number of female graduands who made up 53% of the total number graduands.

While officiating the function, Gordon Wavamunno, the Chancellor of the University urged the graduands to be job creators and not wait to be employed given the current high unemployment rates in the country.

Wavamunno who is also an established businessman in the country tipped the graduands on starting small saying with patience and hard work one can make it in any venture they set out to do.

The 16th graduation ceremony was also used to award key personalities that have played a part in the growth of the institution and these included lady justice, Julia Ssebutinde,Zephania Kiwanuka Mpanga and Prince Besueri Kiwanuka Mulondo who were all awarded honorary Phds.
