Visiting Mozambique president Gen. Armando Guebuza has hailed Uganda's role as an emerging force on regional and international affairs and at the same time paid glowing tribute to President Yoweri Museveni for causing a political awakening within University students back in the day.

 Delivering a lecture at the Senior Staff and Command College Kimaka, Jinja which dwelt on the history of both countries cemented in liberation struggles, Guebuza said Uganda has won herself admiration among esteemed nations.

 

"You can also take comfort in the fact that you are a nation resting on a foundation that projects you to be an important regional and international player in the areas of politics, diplomacy, peace, security and development," Guebuza said, noting that peace and security are the corner stones of development.
