The biggest number of marriages break down within a very short time as a result of lack of trust, according to experts.

Davis Samuel Hiire, the Lead Ambassador for Trust Uganda, says only four in 10 couples celebrate their 10th anniversary.

Those who reach there have built a pillar of trust within their marriages that can allow their relationships last, he added, during a workshop on trust in Kampala.

“This is the reason we must teach our nation on being trustworthy, starting with parents because trust begins at home.”

Hiire, who also doubles as the director of Association of  Christian schools International (ACSI), said they have decided to spread the ‘gospel’ of trust to various institutions, starting with NGO leaders, religious institutions and the business fraternity.

Meanwhile, Vanessa Hall, the director and founder of International Movement of Trust based in Australia, said she had seen some of the worst of breakdown and betrayal of trust even in organizations.

As an international ambassador of trust, she has traveled around the world spreading the gospel of trust.

Her work includes speaking, training and advising government organizations, the church, education and community leaders on building trust.

Hall said she is keen on leaders, families, marriages and communities because she feels these contribute  a lot to the public.
