The fifteen football clubs that have confirmed their participation in the 2015/2016 Azam Uganda Premier League season will elect a new FUFA Super League (FSL) board.

FUFA president Moses Magogo unveiled the plan during the federation’s weekly press conference at Mengo.

“FSL is a company with seventeen shareholders of which FUFA is part but with veto powers,” Magogo stated.

“At the beginning of every season, ordinary shares are transferred to licensed clubs which means the old FSL board would have expired since some members on the board are relegated from the league.”

So the 15 licensed clubs have the mandate to set up a new board.”

Magogo added that his executive decided to withdraw the commercial rights of the league from FSL.

“FUFA is aware that FSL failed to implement proper governance practices so the executive decided to withdraw the commercial right from them,”Magogo stated.

However, FSL secretary Richard Omongole dismissed Magogo statement as uncalled for.

He challenged FUFA to call a meeting where each party would present it’s views.
