One killed in boat accident on Lake Bisina

TWENTY-nine-year old George William Musana of Apule village in Kapujan parish Kapujan Sub County in Katakwi district died at the weekend after the boat he was travelling in capsized on Lake Bisina.

Charles Ntalo, a resident said Musana met his death as he was trying to sail back to Kapujan Sub County from Kumi side where he had taken three passengers earlier.

“Musana took three passengers and remained drinking local brew known as ‘ajono’ in one of the bars in Kumi district. His cousin Bernard Wampalana told him to return with a passenger because he was too drunk but he refused saying he was very strong. At around 6:00pm, when Musana left a storm swept over the lake capsizing his boat,” Ntalo told New Vision.

The police officer in-charge Katakwi central police station, Peter Oduko confirmed the accident.
