Namayanja cautions parents on terror recruitment

The NRM national treasurer Rose Namayanja, has cautioned parents to guard their children against the ongoing terrorism recruitment in the East African region.

The NRM national treasurer Rose Namayanja, has cautioned parents to guard their children against the ongoing terrorism recruitment in the East African region.


She also called up on parents to instill morals and discipline their children.

She cautioned parents and guardians against marrying off their young girls before they come of age. She noted with regret that most victims of early childhood marriages end up dying due to complications during child birth, and denied the chances of attending schools.

"It is unfortunate that some children abruptly stop school and authorities later on discover that their pupils are married off. She lamented that some parents are too vulnerable and view their children as a source of wealth. 

"Government appreciates the role of the church instilling good morals amongst our children, but some parents have neglected their duty to raise their children up right, which has affected the moral fiber, said Namayanja.

Namayanja cited the example of Kenya where reports indicate that Alshabaab terrorists have been recruiting children in their acts, to fight un justifiable wars.

Last April a total 150 people including students were murdered by masked al-Shabaab terrorists who stormed the Garissa University College campus overwhelming guards and murdering people they suspected of being a Christian. On of the attackers turned out to be a Kenyan law student.

Namayanja also cautioned parents who have refused to educate their children, that they are glooming those children to into devilish acts including terrorisms.

"When parents   educating their children, those children will become a burden to the nation, because they lack any professional a earn a living.

Also children, who are not brought up following any religion, will turn into devils, who don't fear God," Said Namayanja.

Namayanja, accompanied by the Wakiso woman MP Rose Mary Ssenninde, attended a fundraising gala for construction of  Our Lady Gate of Heaven primary school, Masooli village, Nangabo Sub County, Wakiso district on Tuesday.

Over sh20m was raised in cash Namayanja donated 300 iron sheets worth sh105m. Also Namayanja bought present Museven's portrait at sh5m cash, while Namayanja's portrait fetched sh 1.2m, among other items auctioned.

Both Namayanja and Senninde urged Ugandans to vote for President Yoweri Museveni come the 2016 presidential general election saying Museveni brought the prevailing peace and stability countrywide.

"Vote only president Museveni, who will maintain the current economic development, infrastructure, development you are enjoying." Sseninde  said.
