AS the Netball World Cup countdown clocks 23 days today, She Cranes coach Milly Kamoga has opted to introduce the shooters to new scoring techniques.

Kamoga says she realised the need to take the shooters Peace Proscovia, Rachael Nanyonga, Hadija Nakabuye, Florence Amono and Stella Oyela through the new drills following the She Cranes performance at the Diamond Challenge in South Africa last month.

“We missed so many attempts at the Diamond Challenge because the girls were not confident so this is the right time for us to work on the players weaknesses,” she said during yesterday’s morning training at the GEMS Cambridge International School Butabika, Luzira.

Among the challenges, all the goal shooters (GS) and attackers (GA) were tasked to score 50 goals while kneeling and according to Kamoga its one of the techniques intended to help the players perfect their ability to aim.

“I am sure once they perfect their score abilities while kneeling then it will be much easier for them to even score more goals while standing,” she stated.

Meanwhile other players including Wing Attackers (WA), Wing Defenders (WD), Center player (C), Goal Defender (GD) and Goal Keepers (GK) were being trained to intercept hard passes a technique commonly used by among others, the world’s best in Australia, Malawi and England.
