THE Bombers preparation for the All Africa Boxing Championship (ABC) has got a boost with an offer of foodstuffs from Haks Investments.

 

The donation that includes posho, beans, sugar and baking floor was delivered to boxers by Haks director Isaac Muyanja the boxers at Lugogo.

 

The offer is a big boost to the team of 24 boxers in camp at Lugogo, according to Uganda Boxing Federation (UBF) official Fred Kavuma.

 

“This is a very timely offer because it came as our store was going very low,” observed Kavuma.

 

The elite of boxers are loading punching powers and skills for the ABC championship in Casablanca, Morocco on July 30 to August 8.

 

The squad is part of over 50 national boxers that was named by Uganda Boxing Federation (UBF) to prepare for various assignments.

 

The team that involves nine women boxers comprises the 24 elite boxers, 10 in the youth category and a similar number of juniors.

 

The Morocco meet which will be a qualifier for the World Championships in Doha Qatar serves as a build up for the All Africa Games due in Congo Brazaville in September.

 

Other engagements awaiting boxers include the World Junior Championship in Samoa September and the World Youth Championships due in Qatar in October.

 

Elite Boxers (19-40 Yrs): Fazil Juma Kaggwa and Umar Mutebi (l/fly) Marvin Omondi, Muhammad Kassim (fly) Rogers Semitala, Nasir Bashir, Brian Sekyejwe (bantam) Hassan Abdu, Moses Mukiibiv(lightweight), Muhammaed Serunkuma, Tonny Mukiibi (l/welter), Nasser Bukenya, David Ochan, Isaac Kakande (welter), Medi Lubega, Tabu Batista (middleweight) Kennedy Katende, Reagan Ssimbwa (l/heavy), Willy Kyakony, Solomon Geko (heavyweight), Mike Sekabembe, Paul Kayondo (super heavyweight).

 

Youth Team (17-18 yrs): Brian Lwanga (l/fly), Herbert Kalungi, Geoffrey Kakeeto (flyweight), Yasin Adinan (bantam), Hassan Kamya (light weight), Latib Muwonge (l/welter), Stanley Mugerwa (middleweight), Caeser Serugo (middleweight), Wasswa Solomon (l/heavy), Tonny Labeja (heavyweight).

 

Junior Team (15-16 yrs): Fahad Muwonge, Ben Lumanyika (pin weight), Goeffrey Kimbugwe, Frank Kaweesa (fly), Stuart Senoga, Abdul Asiku (l/bantam), Joshua Tukamuhebwa, Yasin Sekabira (bantam), Marvin Mpiima, Vincent Lukyamuzi (feather).
