Tourism beauty mourned, Paparazzi makes money out of her photo

Not even tears flowing from the mourners cheeks would deter them from selling photos at the residence of Henry Kiwanuka the father of the late Barbra Nakiwolo, Miss Tourism for Buganda in Seeta, Mukono district.

Not even tears flowing from the mourners cheeks would deter them from selling photos at the residence of Henry Kiwanuka the father of the late Barbra Nakiwolo, Miss Tourism for Buganda in Seeta, Mukono district.

The Paparazzi without any shame rushed to the Kampala studios and printed photos of the late in a calendar where she was declared Miss Tourism Buganda and sold them to the grieved including the mother of the late, Lillian Birungi.

Nakiwolo was among three people who lost their lives after a vehicle they were travelling in lost control along Kampala-Masaka High way on Saturday.

Others who died included Norah Atim, Miss Tourism for north and NTV journalist, Resty Namawejje.

"My daughter was a jolly person and loved young children," Birungi the mother of the deceased told New Vision at the burial site.

Kiwanuka explained to the New Vision that her daughter prepared tea on Thursday morning and after told him she was going to Mbarara for Miss Tourism Ankole event and he gave her pocket money.

He narrated what happened to his daughter before she died that during the event where the Tourism minister, Maria Mutagamba presided over at Mbarara, in which the stage they were standing on gave way.

"She told me that no sooner had she (Nakiwolo) finished speaking than the stage gave way and all of them fell down," Kiwanuka re-echoed the words of his daughter.

He said since then he was shocked to learn that she was involved in an accident where she was critically injured and died at Mulago hospital.

Nakiwolo who was born on May 20, 1993  began her studies in nursery at Masaja G2 up-to primary before joining Our Lady of Consolata for S1-S4 and proceeded to Mbogo Secondary School for A'Level and finally to Makerere Business School for Bachelors of Marketing.

"She was a hard working girl," Kiwanuka said.

Musa Serwanja the grandfather who struggled to wipe tears from his face said Nakiwolo was an obedient girl.

Deogratious Sematimba, a brother to the late described his sister as a loving person who would share the little she had with others.

Nakiwolo's friends described her as outgoing and liked going for birthday parties.

Jessica Nabayego described the deceased as loving and principled.

Diana Mwanguhya told New Vision that Nakiwolo after exams in June went with her friends for swimming, had lunch together and that was the last time they saw her.
