A group of Chinese investors have expressed interest in investing more funds in different sectors which range from agriculture, mining, manufacturing, real estate among others in the country.

The group of five was led by CIFAL general managers, Anna Tao and Xu Weijia.

They were in the country last week to examine all the business investments opportunities available and also met key stakeholders in the different Government and business departments.

CIFAL Shanghai is an Asia-pacific region-oriented international training institute.

It is approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and is set up jointly by United Nations Institute of Training and Research (UNITAR) and The Regional Cooperation Office for City Informatization (RCOCI).

In an interview with the New Vision at Sheraton Hotel in Kampala the group said they were so happy with the various engagements and officials they had visited and promised to go back home and rally their other colleagues to come and invest in the country.

“For me I think Uganda is the place for any Chinese businessman to invest. People have been so friendly and 3 months ago, a team from Uganda was in China encouraging us to come and invest. I am happy that when we came here, we have not been disappointed,” Weijia said.

Weijia also added that, “This country has so many business investment opportunities and the few Government officials and business people we have met here have been real. We have shared with them and come to understood that they want partners who can come in and invest,

Tao said that after 25 years, so many companies had developed in China and there is pressure on them to find other investment regions to expand. “Our next engagement for work is Africa. We want to set up our platforms in the country,” he said.

CIFAL Shanghai provides a wide range of services to the enterprises and local governments in China including co-operation with various agencies, helping regional customers carry out international and domestic training programs in order to promote international cooperation and exchange and investment in industrial projects as well as resource sharing.

The group has also promised to offer direct employment to Ugandan students who are currently studying in China and also encourage more educational exchange programmes between the two countries.

They have also promised to offer scholarships to needy students to be able to access higher education in China.
