Are you still in love with John Ssegawa?
No. We tried so many times to get back together, but things did not work out. We cannot connect anymore. However, he is the father of my children and we have a good relationship as parents. He is a wonderful dad who looks after his children very well. The only reason we appear in public together is because we work together and we have children to raise.

What happened between the two of you?
I cannot go into details because it is personal and I got over it. It is one of those reasons you just keep to yourself. Something tore us apart. What you should know is, I was hurt because it happened when I was expecting our first child and I was also sure of a wedding. We were in love.

You had to share your man with a good friend. How did it feel?
Hahaha! How should I answer that? It was bad for me because I was betrayed by a friend, mentor and someone I respected in the industry. I could not believe it when I heard that Mariam and John were dating.

Mariam was a senior lady in the group and there was no way I could believe that she was moving out with John. What is funny is that everyone knew about their relationship apart from me because people feared to tell me.

When I found out about their relationship, I felt jealous and angry. I even had to stop appearing on stage for some time. I resigned from Afri-Talent and joined Diamonds Ensemble.

What advice would you give a woman with a co-wife?
Never fight or quarrel with your co-wife. If you quarrel, you give her attention and an audience to insult you. Personally, I have never confronted Mariam. I kept the anger to myself.

The right person to fight is your man. He is the one who made a move. Even if you suspect that it is the woman who threw herself at him, as some do when rich men are involved, you should still deal with your man. Pray to God to give you hope. The right man will come.

By the way, when are you getting married?
I believe in the marriage institution and that is why I tried it at one point, but the right man has not yet come. I am not in a rush. I will definitely get married when the right man comes along.

During Judith Babirye’s show at Serena Hotel, I saw you hugging Mariam. Are you now friends?
That is the first time we hugged in public. She is not my friend, but colleague. Quote me well, I do not hate her because time has healed my wounds and I forgave her.

When we meet, I greet her but we cannot have coffee together. By the way, I also kept on asking myself what was going on in her mind to hug me.

Any advice to a young lady nursing a broken heart.
Pray a lot. Try to be active in different groups. Have something that keeps you busy. When you are idle, you get to think about him. You can also talk to genuine friends who will comfort you, but do not tell everyone, because some people will start discussing your situation with others.
