POLICE battled with traders at City Complex building along Market Street in Kampala who were protesting the hiking of electricity charges by their landlord, Drake Lubega yesterday.

POLICE clashed with traders at City Complex building along Market Street in Kampala who were protesting the hiking of electricity charges by their landlord, Drake Lubega yesterday.

The protest began with traders holding placards shouting "Twagala Drake, Twagala Drake" a Luganda phrase meaning we want talk to Drake.

Police, led by the DPC at Central Police Station, Michael Musani came to calm the situation but unfortunately, the situation went out of control and eventually tear gas and bullets were fired and a number of traders went nursing wounds including pregnant women.
