Museveni to grace City High School 50-year celebrations

President Museveni is expected to attend City High School, Kololo golden jubilee celebrations which will take place on Saturday

President Museveni is expected to attend City High School, Kololo golden jubilee celebrations which will take place on Saturday.

The 50-year celebrations will take place at the school sports ground.

Claire Nduhura, the head teacher revealed this at a press briefing that was held at school Wednesday.

"We call upon the parents, students and public to join us as we celebrate the success of 50 years," Nduhura said.

Nduhura added that Museveni is expected to launch a Golden Jubilee Complex storied building which is estimated to cost sh3.2bn.

"We expect the president to lay a foundation stone on our magnificent proposed building," She added.

The school which started in 1964 is celebrating 50 years of existence where they boast of grooming several prominent people like sports minister Charles Bakabulindi, football star Brian Omwony, MP Alex Ruhunda and many others.

Jennifer Musisi, Executive Director KCCA, Kampala Central MP Muhamad Nsereko, Attorney general Fred Ruhindi are expected to grace the occasion.

The school, which accommodates 1300 students, lacks a modern library and a computer laboratory.

"We have a challenge of inefficient classrooms to cater for 'A' level students," Nduhura said.

Nduhura, a wife to former health Minister Dr. Richard Nduhura also said that Museveni is expected to arrive at City High School, Kololo at 10.00am and thereafter head to Mbarara district for another function.
