At least more than 350 elderly members of former Lord’s Resistance Army, LRA victims in Lango sub region have received aid worth sh350m to support livelihood projects.
The money was given out to elderly members who suffered long during the LRA insurgency.
According to Apitta Daniel, program manager Foundation for Integrated Rural Development (FIRD), the main aims of the project is improve livelihoods and boost standard of living of the LRA war victims.
Alfred Nuwamanya, the head of program National NGO Forum Uganda said the region of Lango and Acholi still needs support from both government and NGOs because the region is lagging in development.

He urged the beneficiaries to put the funding and other incoming developmental projects to proper use and also save.
"Government and other NGOs are funding members but most of them are misusing funds through over drinking and those who are being lent money, don’t refund,"he said.
Ebunyo Charles, Lira NGO forum boss, said most of the NGOs and CDOs in Uganda are working jointly to support the victims of the LRA war but most of them are misusing it.
He also noted that some NGO directors swindle meant for these victims, which is a major challenge.
