MAULANA Fazlur Rehman, a Pakistani politician and cleric, has called for a military operation against women who wear jeans as he says they are the cause behind earthquakes and acts of terrorism.

Rehman, the chief of Ulema-e-Islami Fazl (JUI-F) blamed "immodest women" for the recent crisis in Baluchistan and other terror attacks according to Indian Express.

He also went on to hold jeans clad women responsible for the rising inflation and several other disasters. The cleric likened the women, who are not covered to a "sack of flour," and to weapons of mass destruction, adding that Pakistani cities are filled with such missiles.

"The Taliban are our brothers and their angst against the state is justified. As brother Ansar Abbasi has so eloquently put in the past: TTP's suicide bombings are just Allah's wrath upon us. And so there is a need to earmark and eliminate the real enemy of Pakistan: every woman who wears jeans," he reportedly said as cited by multiple news outlets.

He said if women are covered in sacks and stay inside their homes, as under the Islamic Shariah law, the Taliban would never attack Pakistan.

Rehman even urged Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the army chief to launch a military operation against women in jeans.
