SEASONED runner Moses Kipsiro still has a positive outlook to events despite being beaten by the less rated Ronald Musagala in the National Athletics Championship over the weekend.

Musagala edged his colleague to take the 1500m title at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

But Kipsiro left the stadium happy that he came close to his personal best time in the race.

The Commonwealth double champion clocked 3 minutes 41.62 seconds to finish second behind Musagala timed at 3:38.89.

Kipsiro had clocked 3:37.6 at an event in Watford, Great Britain in June 2008.

The runner said that he is determined to improve on his speed ahead of the World Championships due in Moscow, Russia next month.

The runner added that he will get back to preparing for the 10000m race ahead of the competition in Russia.

Kipsiro also entered the 5000m at the event in Namboole. He said that his involvement in the race was to help Geoffrey Kusuro who wanted to hit the qualifying mark for the Russia event. But Kusuro failed to achieve his target.
