Nkumba Select BSC, MUBS, Stormers and Real Galacticals BSC are through to the semi-finals of the Pepsi National Beach soccer league after winning their quarterfinals at Lido Beach on Sunday.
Nkumba Select ended national team and YMCA coach Haruna Kebba’s dream of winning the league for the second successive season with two different teams when they beat the Wandegeya based institution 4-3.
Douglas Muganga scored a brace, Roch Somoka and Yasser Mugerwa a goal each for Nkumba, who now take on MUBS in the last four.
Unbeaten MUBS BSC ejected KIU with the biggest goal margin of the day -9-2. Baker Lukooya and Brian Nkuubi scored hattricks, Martin Bugembe picked a brace while Joachim Golooba scored the other.
Shock of the day came when hitherto contenders for the trophy, Kayunga TC fell 6-3 to Real Galactical BSC.
Galacticals will face Stormers BSC, who beat St Lawrence University 5-3 in the quarterfinals.
Talented BSC won the relegation battle with a walkover after Braza Braza BSC could only show up for the match late.
The semi-finals and the final of the Pepsi National Beach Soccer League will be played at Lido Beach on June 7.
