Uganda Rugby Union (URU) president Andrew Owor has declared his intentions to seek a second term of office when the governing body goes for its annual general meeting on Sunday at Silver Springs Hotel in Kampala.

According to URU secretary Mike Wandera, Owor, and his vice president Ian Walker have declared their intentions to stand but he doesn't rule out others coming up.

"Owor and walker have not picked nomination forms but they confirmed to us in the executive that they are running for second term," Wandera told New Vision but could not confirm whether he would also seek a second term.

If the current executive successfully returns to office, Owor has a big task of uniting a disunited rugby fraternity.

The executive also has to restore past glories. The national team used to be much respected on the continent, fighting for titles every year, which is not the case now.

Efforts to get to URU President Owor for a comment were futile as both his mobile numbers were giving busy.
