Uganda Cranes tactician Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic expects Tanzania to assemble nearly the same team that played against Morocco in the World Cup Qualifier last month.

The two sides meet in a CHAN qualifier in Dar es Salaam on Saturday.

But not one to chicken out in the face of stiff competition, Micho has instead welcomed Tanzania’s strength as a source of motivation for his side.

“I respect the Tanzania coach (Kim Poulsen) and the team they are building. They will have nine of the 11 players who played in their World Cup Qualifier and we have only two who featured in the Angola game. This kind of situation is a motivation for my boys who want to challenge Tanzania and prove a point. We can get a result in Tanzania,” Micho said.

Micho said that playing in the World Cup qualifier with nearly the same players gives Tanzania advantage of match fitness.

TP Mazembe’s Mbawana Samata and Thomas Ulimwengu are the only Tanzanian players who will not play in the CHAN tournament which is meant for home based players in Africa. The Cranes team fielded only midfielder Hassan Wasswa and right back Denis Iguma in the World Cup qualifier against Angola.
