KASESE - Acute water scarcity has hit most parts of Kasese district foecing the residents there to resort to dirty stagnant water for domestic use.
The most affected areas are Muhokya, Lake Katwe and Munkunyu Sub Counties.
Eve Mbamba, a resident of Nyaruzigati in Lake Katwe Sub County said that for those who cannot afford to pay sh2000 for a jerry can of water from Kasese town have to wait for the rain water.
Erifazi Mugisa , a resident of Kikorongo told our reporter that they trek over 10 kilometers to collect water from River Nyamugasani.
Earnest Kasoke, the Lake Katwe Sub County chairperson noted that the Sub County is not able to extend piped water to all the residents in the sub county due to the limited budget.
