Former English news anchor Rosemary Nankabirwa has breathed her last, according to reports from NTV.

The reports indicate that Nankabirwa's family has confirmed the former NTV news anchor has been put off life support.

The news leaves friends and well wishers heartbroken after a hopeful Nankabirwa said last week she had faith she would heal in Jesus' name.

Her mother who was always by her bedside had been made strong by her daughter's resolve and she too had hope Nankabirwa would make it.

Nankabirwa had been flown to Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi Saturday afternoon as thousands of well-wishers responded to a car wash fundraising drive at Serena Hotel Kampala to raise over sh100m for her treatment.

Nankabirwa, who was battling adrenocortical carcinoma cancer, had been hospitalised at Cancer institute and Heart institute at Mulago hospital before she was taken to Nairobi.

May her soul rest in peace...
