Omar leads in MX50 class win in Nairobi

WALID Omar led Ugandan riders to top two positions in the MX50 class in the first round of the FIM Central Africa motocross championships at Jamhuri Park racetrack yesterday.

Omar who scored 53 points was followed into second position by Ben Nsumba (50) while Tai Wahome of Kenya finished third in the event that saw Kenya win the first round with 1632 points while Uganda scored 736.

Paddy Blick led Uganda to second position in the MX65 class to scoop 46 points. The event was won by Kenya’s Ethan Nyachae on 60 points.

Fortune Ssentamu wrapped up the podium dash helping Uganda to a third podium finish Ahmed Tamale earned Uganda 43 points when he finished second in MX2 class with L. Ssemakula taking fifth position on 35 points.

Ali Omar and Alastair Blick finished second and third for Uganda in the Mx85 class to earn 49 and 44 points respectively in the event that saw Uganda enter only 24 racers.
